PHP Programmer Client: Ayuda Automatisering, Haarlem Worked as a freelance PHP developer on various web application projects, providing custom development, maintenance, and technical support for PHP-based solutions. October 2010 - July 2011 PHP Instructor Client: Media College Amsterdam Media College Amsterdam hired me to teach PHP 5 to high school students. Since no suitable course material was available at the time, I developed a complete curriculum and lesson series covering both fundamental and advanced PHP concepts. Topics included: Integrating PHP into custom HTML websites Parsing XML and RSS feeds with PHP 5 Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles Creating and managing MySQL databases with phpMyAdmin Developing a custom Content Management System (CMS) in PHP The course combined theory with hands-on programming assignments, enabling students to build practical web applications while learning modern development techniques. The students had to upload their assignments, and the final exams on a secured FTP server so that I could review them. October 2008 - March 2011 Webmaster & Web Developer Client: Heather Nova (Bermuda) Heather Nova wanted a website that combined a rich multimedia experience with the ability to manage her own content. To achieve this, I developed a custom PHP-based Content Management System and integrated it with a Flash front end built in SwishMax. The result was a fully customized website that allowed content updates without requiring programming knowledge. At the time, this combination of Flash and PHP provided an engaging user experience while giving Heather complete control over the site's content and day-to-day management. October 2006 - November 2009 Programmer & Database Engineer Client: Vakantiepunten B.V. Vakantiepunten B.V. needed someone who could wear multiple hats, and that's exactly what I did. My responsibilities ranged from database administration and web development to technical writing and graphic design. I maintained company databases, developed landing pages with expiration dates, and created a custom CRM application to support customer management and internal workflows. I also wrote user manuals and designed promotional materials, including logos and banners, giving me the opportunity to contribute to both the technical and creative sides of the business. Graduation Project October 2003 - January 2004 Location: ABN AMRO Bank, Private Banking Division Role: Application Programmer As part of my graduation project, I developed an interactive training course on CD-ROM for the Private Banking division of ABN AMRO Bank. The application was designed to train employees in the use of the bank's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, Siebel, one of the leading enterprise CRM systems at the time. Using MatchWare Mediator Pro, I designed and programmed an interactive multimedia learning environment that combined instructional content, navigation, and user interaction into a self-paced training solution.
